Jemma Moore

Jemma Moore is a Nyoongar woman of Aboriginal, American decent born and raised in Perth, Western Australia.

Having been a passion since childhood Moore began studying Fashion & Textile Design at North Metropolitan TAFE's Perth campus in 2014. Over her years of study from never having touched a sewing machine before Moore has acquired extensive skills across Textile design and Construction techniques. These skills include silk screen and hand printing, fabric dying techniques, intricate stitch and beadwork, digital print development, pattern cutting, laborious fabric manipulation and experience in working with a large array of fibres (including silks).

 

Moore has also acquired knowledge and training in working with computer graphics programs such as Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator and Adobe InDesign.

 

Upon graduating with an Advanced Diploma in 2016 and as well as winning the 2016 Adobe award Moore had also won the 2016 industry based Potter Textile award; a digital textile competition hosted by Potter textiles in North Perth.
